What it is

Med Math Lab is unlimited dosage calculation practice with simulated orders. Pick a skill: conversions, oral and IM, weight-based, IV mL/hr, drip gtt/min, infusion time, titratable drips, heparin, insulin drips, reconstitution, or peds safe dose. Then switch on Exam mode to mix them up.

Every answer shows a step-by-step dimensional analysis setup: name the goal, start with the order, add conversion fractions, cancel, do the math, then round last and sanity-check. Each one ends with a safety tip you can carry to clinical.

Heparin problems use a sample aPTT adjustment protocol, peds problems ask whether a dose is safe, too high, or too low, and your accuracy is saved on your device.

What you'll learn

  • Dimensional analysis from start to finish
  • IV rates in mL/hr and gtt/min
  • Titratable and weight-based drips
  • Heparin dosing with an aPTT protocol
  • Insulin drip math
  • Reconstitution
  • Pediatric safe dose ranges

How it helps you

NCLEX tests clinical judgment, using NCSBN's Clinical Judgment Measurement Model. Every NURSYN game is built on the nursing process. Med Math Lab works these ADPIE steps: Implementation.

A · AssessmentD · DiagnosisP · PlanningI · ImplementationE · Evaluation
  • Covers Implementation: safe medication administration is a top NCLEX safety area
  • Seeing the setup every time builds a method you can trust, not a memorized formula
  • Exam mode mixes problem types, which is closer to how tests ask them
  • Safety tips connect each calculation to high-alert medication habits

How to play

  1. Pick a skill (or Exam mode)
  2. Read the order and solve it
  3. Check your answer, or tap Show solution
  4. Study the dimensional analysis setup and safety tip
  5. Hit New problem and keep your streak going
